Performance training is geared for anyone
who wants to become more fit, better at sports or daily
activities, and reduce the risk of injury that can occur as a
result of poor or inadequate conditioning.
- Along with having fun,
performance training will improve balance, flexibility,
coordination, core strength, speed, agility, power, and serve as
an effective means of injury prevention.
Train movements, not muscles.
Isolation of specific muscles will not appropriately prepare
the body for dynamic movement. Performance training prepares
the body to effectively deal with gravity, because movement
is gravity driven.
Training is geared to be fun
and functional. It is an integration of
traditional weight training with exercises that develop
essential areas such as balance, flexibility, core strength,
and coordination.
This "functional" training method allows people to train in
positions they encounter in their sport or daily activities.
The result is improved performance while reducing injury
potential.
By
starting now you are investing in quality time that will
improve your quality of life. Whether it's training for
sport, recreation, or general fitness, anyone at any age
will benefit from this integrated training approach.

Testimonials:
I have been exercising at
HealthPlex since 1984. Being an avid pheasant
hunter, my membership at HealthPlex has helped me
maintain the fitness necessary to keep up with hunters
half my age. At 80 years young, the HealthPlex is
the perfect place for me to workout, and for anyone else
wanting to get in shape!

The Health Plex
is a great place. I pretty much grew up lifting
in there all throughout high school and I know
that one of the reasons I'm playing football for
the Huskers right now is because of the great
people and excellent facilities at the Health
Plex. The atmosphere there is so great that you
can always go in and have an enjoyable workout.

I first joined
HealthPlex Fitness Center in 1992 when
cardiovascular exercise and strength training
was added to the treatment plan during my battle
with anorexia nervosa. Scott Norton and
the HealthPlex staff helped show me what being
healthy really means!! I've been recovered
for nearly eight years and continue to enjoy my
workout routine and the welcoming atmosphere
only the HealthPlex can provide.

I joined
the Health Plex for my New Year resolution
in February 2002. It was the best resolution
I ever made!
Scott and
Dennis were very helpful in helping me set
up a Diet and Strength training schedule.
They were also
happy to
answer my questions when they came up.
Health Plex was the best thing I have ever
done for myself.
My body and
I thank you!!

I have been a
member of the Health Plex for many years. In
that time it has helped me win several state
road races and mountain bike championships not
only in Nebraska, but also in Colorado, Iowa and
several other areas. The Health Plex is a great
place to stay fit for the next race season
during the long Nebraska winters.
